Now that spring is finally here, it’s time to shine up your car/truck/bike, and get out on the open road. For me, this means a chance to photograph some awesome rides after a winter of staring at the mud-mobiles that every car in Winnipeg turns into:
So that’s why I’m looking for some volunteers. As some of you know, I also do paid photography work–that is, people hire me to make their cars (and trucks) look beautiful on film (well, digital film, actually). I’ve shot everything from Ferraris to Ford GT’s, and rat rods to farm equipment. Of course, this costs money that you’d probably rather spend on some go-fast goodies for your vehicle. That’s why I want to make it easier and cheaper for everyone to get the kind of pictures I’d shoot for, say, Canadian Hot Rods & Classics Magazine.
What I’m doing is, for $100 you get a day-long photoshoot with you, your car, and 5-10 friends. We’ll shoot in various locations (and maybe even between locations), with or without owners in the picture. When it’s over, you get twenty prints and a CD or DVD with all the pictures from the day. And as an added bonus, your wheels will be featured right here on this blog, where hundreds of people will see and admire your ride.
This is where the volunteers come in. Since it’s still a new idea, I want to do a trial run free of charge. Everything but the prints are included, and the only catch is (a) being in the Winnipeg area, and (b) having to get up early (the best car photos are shot first thing in the morning).

What I’m looking for are cars that are something special to look at–sorry, no rusty Cavaliers or Ford Fiestas with plastic spinners. Just awesome rides that deserve awesome pictures.
