Cemetary on Osborne St. South

It’s been a bit cold lately to shoot much outdoors, so I’ve been playing with some photos from a couple weeks ago. The cemetary pictured below is on Osborne Street South, near the Robin’s Donuts (yes, there’s still a few of them around!).

There’s more than a few things I did to the photos, namely adding a Black & White layer, and a noise filter, for that hand-printed film grain look. It really reminds me of back when I used to shoot almost exclusively on Agfa black & white film. Unlike Robin’s Donuts, Agfa Film is long gone, a victim of the digital cross-over.

It’s interesting to see how some of the effects look good in black & white, and in colour–the only technical difference between these two pics.

Same goes for these ones, although the colour shot has been de-saturated:

“and when the dead walk the earth, this is where they shall wait for the bus….”

And on a completely unrelated note, the latest issue of Canadian Hot Rods & Classics is finally on its way to stores–with my article on the Pony Corall Sunday Night Cruise right smack in the middle! Keep tuned, I’ll let you all know when it gets here!
