This Week:

Brandon’s first Co-op Cruise Night is tonight (June 5th) at the Heritage Co-op parking lot (1035 Rosser Avenue).  The show starts at 5:30 pm, and runs to whenever.  For more info, contact Grant Gillis at (204) 726-4382.

If you’re still in the Wheat City tomorrow (Thursday June 5th) the Brandon Area Car Enthusiats (BACE) presents “Cruisin’ the Dub” on Rosser Avenue from 6th to 13th streets.  For more info, check out the BACE’s website.

And heck, just stay around for Chrome In The Trees this Sunday June 8th at the Westman Communication Grounds (formerly known as the Keystone Centre).  The show runs from noon to 5 pm, and is organized by the Chrome Addicts.  For more info, email rdayman1948@hotmail.com.

Of course, if you’re stuck in the River City and can’t make the drive, the Fabulous 50’s Ford Club of Manitoba presents the first “City Lights Cruise Night” tonight at the Pony Corral downtown (444 St. Mary Avenue) from 6 to 10 pm.  Like the Sunday night event, this show will run every Wednesday from 6 to 10pm for the rest of the summer.  The show is organized and sponsored by the Fabulous 50’s Ford Club of Manitoba, the Pony Corral, and Downtown Biz.

Boat fans rejoice–Thursday June 12th is the Pony Corral Pier 7 Boat Show at 1700 Pembina Highway.  It’s like a very wet cruise night with boats.  The show gets underway at 4 pm at the pier behind the restaurant, and features live entertainment from Pepe Cortes.  For boat owners, it’s on the Red River about a 1/4 mile north of the St. Vital bridge.

Next Week:

On Sunday June 8th, AMC Manitoba is hosting the Cruisin’ Club Regent Car Show at the Club Regent Casino, 1425 Regent Ave. West.  There’s cash prizes for best Custom/Street Rod, GM, Ford, Mopar, AMC, and of course, Best of Show gets $300.  Entry for cars is $10 starting at 10 am, and free for spectators starting at noon.  All proceeds go towards Muscular Dystrophy Manitoba.  For more info, contact Robin Carruthers at (204) 256-7639 (email: robin_sst “at” hotmail.com)

Across the street, Tavern United’s cruise night, “Cruisin’ the Peg” runs from 6 to 10 pm.  As always, the show is open to all classics, antiques, muscle, sports, and special interest cars (and trucks) are welcome.

Of course, Cruise Night at the Pony Corral Grant Park will also be on that night from 6-10 pm.  If you’re car or truck is cool, it belongs there.  The show is hosted by local celebrity Paul Williamson of “Willy’s Garage.”  Check out the Pony Corral website for more info and directions.

If you’re not in Brandon on June 11th, head downtown for the “City Lights Cruise Night” at the Pony Corral on St. Mary Avenue.  They’ll be blocking off the streets from 6 to 10 pm for the show.  It’s open to all antiques, classics, and special interest vehicles.  It’s presented by the Fabulous 50’s Ford Club of Manitoba, the Pony Corral, and Downtown Biz.

Red River Co-op Speedway is hosting the Super Stock Special with 4-Cylinder Stocks on Thursday, June 12th.  The green flag drops at 7:30 pm, with the rain date set for Friday, June 13th.  For more info and directions, check out their website.
