City Lights Cruise Night & Pony Corral Boat Show

Between car shows and everything else, it’s been a busy week around here.  On Tuesday, I was invited to speak to the Manitoba Pontiac Association about the cruising scene book that I’m currently writing.  It turned out to be a great time, with a lot of their members showing keen interest in the idea.  I also got a chance to talk with several members about their cars, and about what they’re working on.  I can’t wait to see their new rides once they hit the streets.

City Lights Cruise Night

On Wednesday, the first City Lights Cruise Night of the season got started, with the Thunderbird Club of Manitoba being the special guest.

That’s not to say other cars weren’t welcome–take a look at this pimped-out Pontiac Acadian.  This little black wonder may not be the most popular base to build a hot rod from, but it’s certainly well-done enough to justify being at this show.

MG Convertible

This little MG was out on Wednesday as well.  The gorgeous orange/red paint was as flawless as the rest of this teeny roadster.

Ford Ranchero

The Piston Ring Ford Ranchero made it to the cruise as well.  This car/truck/automotive mullet was out at the World of Wheels show as well.  However, it looked much better here in its natural habitat.

Pony Corral Pier 7 Boat Show

Having a cruise night for boats might sound a bit odd at first, but the Pony Corral Pier 7 Boat Show was actually a decent success.  There wasn’t a huge turnout–this was the very first show, ever–but there were still a few cool boats, both in the water and on trailers.

Pony Corral Pier 7 Boat ShowOne of the better pieces of eye-candy was this Curtis Craft two-seater.  The owner left it on the trailer, but that turned out to be the best way to see the amazing woodwork.  Up close, it almost seemed as if this runabout was carved from a single block of wood.  Even the dashboard had its fair share of hard work invested in it.

That’s it for this week, but come back Monday to see what happened around here on the weekend.  And if you’re looking for something to do with those bitchin’ wheels, come back for the car calendar on this (and every) Wednesday!
