Top Video Wednesday

Ah Madonna, what happened to you?  All those happy 80’s memories of “Borderline” and Papa Don’t Preach,” so quickly replaced with headlines of “crazy middle-aged woman practices religions based on cheap rubber wristbands” (no, that wasn’t a Lance Armstrong dig).

That’s why Clive Owen and BMW partnered up to smack some sense into the troubled popstar.  Back in 2001, BMW released a series of short films showcasing their cars by some of the biggest directors of the time.  Guy Ritchie just happened to be one of those directors.  He also just happened to be married to Miss Madonna.  When hit up to do a short for BMW, he looked no further than the lovely woman hanging off his arm.

Well actually, it’s Madonna, so he was probably hanging on to his own arm after she tore it off in some bizarre sex thing that only Madonna understands.

The directors were given carte-blanche to do as they pleased, although two elements had to be present:  a silver BMW, and Clive Owen.  Clive would later go on to make car guys cheer with his infamous line in Sin City: “Get me a hardtop with a decent engine and make sure it’s got a big trunk.”  Or in this case, “Get me a rock star with a cup of coffee and a big ego.”

Want more?  Of course you do.  Check out our buddy at Miss-Lou Motor Mafia [Click here] for the latest on the Deep South USA’s cruising scene.  Or if you want to stay at home, take a gander at the first SundayCruiseFever.com video to hit the net.  Yeah, it’s older than the current form of this site is, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a look…
